Country Manager Belgium & Netherlands

Boeren en Buren is a web service where consumers can order directly from local producers. Since 2013, this successful Scale-up is dedicated to creating a new social and positive economy. Local farmers and craft producers are treated fairly and consumers have access to fresh local produce straight from mother nature. 1,200 Hives (Ruche/Buurderij) have been created in France, Belgium, Netherlands, Spain, Italy, Germany and Switzerland with more than 10,000 active producers and more than 210,000 active members. They have found the gap in the market and are thriving. 

To further their mission in Belgium and the Netherlands, Boeren en Buren is now looking for a Country Manager. A leader by heart who wants to make a difference. The CM’s responsibility is leading a team of 5 people + a few freelancers and being responsible for all operations that take place in Belgium and the Netherlands. Direct communication with the Headquarter in Paris, home to the 2 CEOs, and exchanges with the other CMs (France, Italy, Germany, Spain) is a must.
 

Your mission:

• Expanding the activity of the platform (Gross Sales of 7 million euros). Setup the Belgium and the Netherlands operational strategy, activity forecast, annual business plan, budget followup, managing the PnL.

• Support, animate and grow the existing network by looking for new levers to increase the business volume of the assemblies : develop the community spirit of the network, recruit and train assembly managers and producers, reach more members through marketing and communication campaigns, etc.

• Manage and make grow a multidisciplinary team of 5 people (specialized in different subjects such as network development and network expansion coordinations, communication and marketing, administration such as HR and accountancy).

Your profile:

• Through past managerial experience you have acquired leadership skills that allow you to inspire and empower your teams.

• Result driven, you plan based on the results you want to achieve.

• You have a higher level management related education (Business school, MBA, Entrepreneurship, Consulting, etc.)

• Your fluid communication skills, both verbal and written, will lead to excellent internal, network and external (public/press) communication.

• You can’t sit still! You have a strong operational mindset and love to get your hands dirty, going into the fields and exchanging with all stakeholders.

• You are fluent in English, French and Dutch.

• You have a plus if you have experience in network animation or leads.

• Knowledge of the Belgian market is another plus

• You are well aware of the issues related to the agricultural industry and foodtech and want to make changes for the better of future generations.
